Evinger-Ladd Added To UFC 229

Following Tonya Evinger’s opponent pulled out of UFC Fight Night 137, the MMA pioneer has been added to what may the biggest night of the year for the UFC.

Evinger, who was set to face Ketlyn Veira later this month, has been moved onto the UFC 229 card after Vieira was pulled due to injury. The former Invicta bantamweight champion will face off against the undefeated Aspn Ladd on October 6th in Las Vegas.

This will be the first fight for Evinger since her UFC debut, a loss to Cris Cyborg for the UFC women’s featherweight title. Evinger looked to return to action earlier this year but would be put on the shelf with a knee injury.

It is also Ladd’s second time under the UFC banner, as she defeated Lina Lansberg via a second round TKO at UFC Fight Night 118 in 2017.

With the addition to the card, UFC 229 now includes:

UFC Lightweight title Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor
Tony Ferguson vs. Anthony Pettis
Dominick Reyes vs. Ovince Saint Preux
Derrick Lewis vs. Alexander Volkov
Felice Herrig vs. Michelle Waterson
Sean O’Malley vs. Jose Quinonez
Jussier Formiga vs. Sergio Pettis
Scott Holtzman vs. Alan Patrick
Yana Kunitskaya vs. Lina Lansberg
Nik Lentz vs. Gray Maynard
Ryan LaFlare vs. Tony Martin
Tonya Evinger vs. Aspen Ladd
