GLORY Holds Two Chicago Events in One Weekend

GLORY Kickboxing invades the WinTrust Arena in Chicago for a weekend of action, as the promotion will host two events — GLORY 71 and GLORY 72 — on November 22 and 23, respectively.

The main event of GLORY 71 will feature a trilogy bout between current GLORY women’s super bantamweight champion Anissa Meksen and former champion Tiffany Van Soest. Van Soest won the championship in an eight-woman tournament in 2016, which included winning her semi-final and final bout in one night at GLORY: Collision. Van Soest dropped the title to Meksen at GLORY 48 the next year by unanimous decision and lost a rematch via split decision earlier this year at GLORY 64.

The GLORY 71 co-main event will see former heavyweight title challenger Benjamin Adegbuyi, who won the GLORY 50 contender tournament and was the runner-up of last year’s GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix, take on D’Angelo Marshall. This will also be a rematch, as Adegbuyi knocked out Marshall in 36 seconds in the semi-finals of the GLORY 50 tournament.

GLORY 72, meanwhile, will be headlined by Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao look for his third successful GLORY featherweight title defense in his 201st bout in the sport, as he faces the challenge of Alexei Ulianov, who has won three straight by unanimous decision over the past year in GLORY.

More information on the cards will be released in the coming days and weeks.
