Golovkin vs. Rolls Live Results

Former unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin is ready for his return to the ring, as he takes on Steve Rolls in the main event of a card at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

This will be Golovkin’s first time competing at 168 pounds. It will also be his first fight since losing the WBA and WBC middleweight championships, as well as his undefeated record, to Canelo Alvarez in their epic rematch in September. The only other blemish on GGG’s record is a controversial split draw he and Alvarez had in their original September 2017 encounter.

Golovkin’s last win came in May 2018, when he defeated Vanes Martirosyan via second-round knockout to retain the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF and IBO middleweight championships. All of GGG’s fights have ended in a KO/TKO victory outside of the two GGG-Canelo fights and a unanimous decision win over Daniel Jacobs in March 2017.

Rolls is unbeaten at 19-0, though he hasn’t faced competition as tough as GGG has faced. Rolls’ last fight was on December 15, when he defeated KeAndrae Leatherwood by unanimous decision.
