In a release, Matchroom Boxing stated that the fight, originally set for June 20 inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will be moved to anther convenient time. “We will announce any updates in due course and continue to explore the possibility of hosting this fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,” Matchroom stated.
This announcement comes after Hearn predicted the fight would be delayed. He is hoping to return to business as usual in the next few months, but if not, would be interested in going straight to Joshua v. Tyson Fury. Fury is currently scheduled to face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout in October.
Joshua is coming off of two fights against Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019. Back in June, Joshua lost in a huge upset inside Madison Square Garden. In the rematch in December, Joshua came back leaner and outshined Ruiz. He ended up winning back his titles in Saudi Arabia. Pulev last fought in November, beating Rydell Booker via unanimous decision.
