Means Punched So Hard, He Breaks Ankle

UFC welterweight Tim Means would spend most of Saturday night in the hospital after a punch to his jaw by Niko Price would break Means ankle.

Price would drop Means with a hook that would send him to the canvas, landing on his ankle and snapping his tibula.

For his efforts, Price earned a $50,000 performance of the night bonus, while Means would take a trip to the hospital.

“I do my best to leave it all in the ring every time out so the fans can get what they paid for,” Means wrote on Instagram. “Wasn’t my night. I have to get surgery, broken [tibia] and ankle. Niko caught me with a punch and my foot got stuck under me. Much respect to [Price]. See y’all down the road. Thank you to everyone for the kind words.”

Means’ wife and fellow mixed martial artist, Brenda Gonzales-Means, shared a picture showing the extent of the injury.
