Officials Set For Horn-Crawford
With just over a week until Jeff Horn’s rescheduled WBO welterweight title fight against Terence Crawford, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has officially assigned the referee and judges.
The judges for the June 9th clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena will be Australian Judge Adam Height, American judge Burt Clements, and Italian judge Guido Cavalleri.
Both Clements and Cavalleri had been assigned to the fight’s original April 14th date, but Height, who has judged two of Horn’s prior fights, replaces Ignatius Missailidis, after the bout was pushed back nearly two months due to Crawford’s hand injury.
“This is what we always wanted,” Horn told news.com.au recently. “We have an Australian judge, an American judge and a judge from a neutral country. It makes for a level playing field and I can’t wait to get in there and defend my world title.”
The commission has also assigned Robert Byrd for the fight, replacing Tony Weeks, who was set to officiate the original April 14th fight.
