Pitbull & Derek Campos Signed For Bellator 194

After three false starts, Bellator has booked a rematch between Patrick Freire and Derek Campos.

Bellator announced that the two lightweights will be featured in the co-main event of Bellator 194 on February 16th.

This is the fourth time Bellator has attempted to have a rematch between the two. The fight was scheduled for Bellator 152, 167 and 181, with each attempt being postponed.  In 2016, it was cancelled for Bellator 152 and 167 due to injuries, and once in 2017 at Bellator 181 when “Pitbull” was moved for a fight with Benson Henderson.

Freire was aiming at a shot against 155-pound champion Brent Primus, following his victories over Josh Thomson and Henderson in 2017, but will now try to reenact his Bellator 117 TKO victory, four years after facing Campos.

Camposis in the midst of a four-fight winning streak, including stoppages over Melvin Guillard and Brandon Girtz. His other wins came against Derek Anderson and Djamil Chan.

Bellator 194 takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Unscasville, and features a heavyweight grand prix quarterfinal bout between Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione in the main event.
