Spong Charged With Cougar Escape After Failed PED Test

Tyrone Spong has had a hell of a week and not in a great way, as the fighter lost out on a major fight and now a report that his pet cougar… That’s right a pet cougar, escaped from his home earlier this year.

The kickboxer turned pugilist, was pulled from his fight scheduled for October 12th against former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, but tested positive for a drug prescribed for female birth control.

On top of that, Spong’s pet cougar, yes, an actual cougar, escaped from his Florida home, leading to state prosecutors filing 23 criminal charges against Spong.

Pre the Sun-Sentinal, the 60-pound cat showed up in the town of Parkland in Broward County this past January, resting on a driveway and hopping a fence into a backyard. Luckily no one including the cougar was injured as  Wildlife officers subdued it with a tranquilizer and took it to a licensed wildlife facility.
