UFC Moscow Live Results

The UFC has returned to Russia with a few hometown heroes. Will there be a sweep? Taking place inside the CSKA Arena in Moscow, UFC Fight Night 163 is sure to bring some exciting matchups into the fold.

Originally set for UFC Boston, the main event will be Zabit Magomedsharipov v. Calvin Kattar. Zabit (17-1) is on a 13-fight win steak, his last win a unanimous decision one against Jeremy Stephens at UFC 235. The main event in September was forced to be moved following a mysterious injury to Zabit. Now, he has the hometown advantage. With two Performance and one Fight of the Night honors, can he add on to his streak against another impressive fighter?

The odds may be against Kattar (20-3), but he doesn’t seem to mind. The 31-year-old from Massachusetts could have had family and friends behind him, but the roles have reversed. On a two-fight win streak, Kattar is coming off of back-to-back TKO-wins. He knocked out Chris Fishgold at UFC Fight Night 138 and Ricardo Lamas at UFC 238. Both were in the first round. Can he do it again today?

In the co-main event, Greg Hardy gets a huge step-up in competition when he faces Alexander Volkov. This is a quick turnaround for Hardy (5-1, 1NC), who continues to have controversial fights. The former football star had a win against Ben Sosoli in October overturned after he used an inhaler between rounds two and three. Prior to that, he was on a two-fight win streak that also included a DQ-loss.

Volkov (30-7) believes Hardy deserves the opportunity, unlike most critics. The 31-year-old last fought in 2018 when he lost to Derrick Lewis at UFC 229. Winning the majority of the fight, one mistake costed him and Lewis knocked him out with about ten seconds left in the fight. Prior to that, he was on a six-fight win streak.
