Prochazka Wants To Fight By Year’s End Vs. Top Opponent

Jiri Prochazka is targeting a return before the end of 2026 as he looks to force his way back into the UFC light heavyweight title picture.

The former champion initially considered competing in October, but now believes he needs at least two months to complete a full training camp.

“I definitely want to fight in October, November or December,” Prochazka said. “October is starting to look unrealistic, though, so realistically November or December are the options.”

No opponent has been confirmed, but Prochazka made it clear he wants a meaningful matchup against one of the division’s leading contenders.

“Above all, I want it to be a top-five opponent, a quality opponent who is close to a title fight,” he added. “I want someone across from me who makes me say, ‘Yes, this is a challenge.’”

Prochazka (32-6-1) is coming off a first-round knockout loss to reigning champion Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327. A victory over another leading contender could put him back within reach of the light heavyweight title he previously held in 2022.
