Ilia Topuria will reportedly return to fighting during International Fight Week, having kicked off training camp for his next bout.
After defeating Max Holloway at UFC 308, Topuria vacated his featherweight title to pursue double-champ status at lightweight. He is targeting a showdown with reigning champion Islam Makhachev. However, there is no guarantee this will happen. Makhachev could move up in weight since he is also targeting a second belt.
Alternatively, Islam may face other contenders in the divison, such as Arman Tsarukyan. Makhachev was on course to face Tsarukyan in his last fight. The fight never happened as Tsarukyan withdrew with an injury, as Islam faced Renato Moicano. If it is not Islam next, Topuria could face former title contender Charles Oliveira, Tsarukyan or Oliveria.
