UFC Returns To Macau For The First Time Since 2014

The UFC returns to Macau for the first time since 2014.

The card will take place on November 23, which will be its third event in the region. The first card occurred in 2012 when Cung Le headlined against Rich Franklin. It was a successful fight for Lee, who came out victorious with a first-round KO. Two years later, Lee was unsuccessful, suffering a fourth-round stoppage loss to Michael Bisping.

Another event followed in the same year between Dong Hyun Kim and John Hathaway. Kim came out with a third-round win. The main event has not been announced, nor have any other fighters on the card. However, there will be a departure from the prior arena at Cotai Arena, with a new venue at the Galaxy Arena.

Elsewhere, ex-strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield will face off in a UFC Canada event in a five-round flyweight clash on November 2 at the Rogers Place in Edmonton. It is the first time the UFC will return since 2019. Since her loss to Fiorot, Namajunas has won two on the bounce. Meanwhile, Blanchfield is looking to bounce back from her loss to Fiorot in her last bout.

Before the loss, Blanchfield was undefeated, with six wins in a row, making her one of the leading flyweights. In chief support, Derrick Lewis faces Alexandr Romanov in a heavyweight clash. Lewis stopped Rodrigo Nascimento in a third-round stoppage the last time around, while Romanov hopes to put his loss to Jailton Almeida behind him.
