Conor McGregor On BKFC Future Following Final Fight On UFC Contract
Conor McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract, and it seems he is eager to move on to a combat sports future with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, of which he is a part owner.
McGregor made his return to the octagon after five years away this past July to square off with Max Holloway, but unfortunately ‘The Notorious’ suffered yet another injury in the early stages of the match and the action was waved off in the first round. McGregor’s return timeline is expected to be somewhere between April and July 2027, as he will need time to recover from the surgery to repair his torn ACL and meniscus.
Back in 2024, during BKFC’s Knucklemania 4 in Los Angeles, they took a break in the action to announce McGregor Sports and Entertainment as a new part owner of the company. As part of his direct responsibilities, McGregor has a voice in company decision making, and plays a large role in helping the promotion of BKFC as a brand.
In a post to social media on Friday, McGregor voiced his excitement surrounding BKFC as a source of entertainment and expressed his interest in entering the ring for a match of his own. “One more to go,” McGregor said in the video, reminding the fans he has only one fight left on his UFC contract before entering free agency.
