Eubank Jr. Admits There Is Pressure To Beat Liam Smith – ‘My Career Is On The Line’

Chris Eubank Jr. has acknowledged that his career is on the line as he gears up for his rematch with Liam Smith.

In their first bout, Smith recorded a savage fourth-round TKO as Eubank Jr. hit the canvas. While he managed to get up, he was no longer in a fit state to continue.

In the immediate aftermath of the loss, there were certain reasons bandied about for the loss.

Eubank Jr.’s weight cut for the Conor Benn fight, prior to the fight being called off, was suggested by some as a reason for the loss.

Not only that, there were suggestions that Eubank’s team were considering appealing Smith’s victory due to an alleged illegal use of an elbow.

But this time around, Eubank Jr. is looking to leave everything out in the open, particularly with critics suggesting that he should retire if he incurs another loss.

“This is a rematch, a very serious fight for me now, I cannot afford any mistakes, so I’m ready for the challenge.

“I may have, not underestimated him, but there wasn’t as much pressure on me in the last fight. Now on the flip side all the pressure is on me, I have to go out there and perform, my career is on the line,” Eubank Jr.
