Fury/WWE Mum On Pay For Match

Last week it was reported that Tyson Fury would be getting the biggest payday of his career later this year, no not for fighting Deontay Wilder, but for joining the WWE.

Fury is reported to make in the neighborhood of $12-15 million for his October 31st match against Braun Strowman for the WWE’s annual Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.

“Listen I can’t comment on money,” Fury said to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.

“So I’ve read, so I’ve read. I’ve read this. But I don’t know where that information has come from. But I’m not gonna confirm or deny, because I don’t want to breach my contract.”

When asked about it, WWE executive Paul Levesque said: “It is amazing how much people count other people’s money, isn’t it, in today’s world? Yeah, look, you can make an argument at right now that, if you said, what are the four big sports in America, you can make an argument that we’re right there. This is a moment in time. And to his point, I’m not gonna confirm or deny, but the positioning of what we are, it’s no different than any other sport. We’re not the size of the NFL or anything like that, but what we do is up there.”
