Jared Anderson Arrested; Faces OVI And Gun Charges
Jared Anderson was apprehended on November 7th, 2023, by authorities for operating a vehicle while being intoxicated and having a gun in his vehicle.
Mike Coppinger of ESPN confirmed that Anderson spent eight hours at the County Corrections Center before being released. The boxer will be required to attend a hearing on November 8th, 2023, to determine the extent of any given punishment. The heavyweight is facing two charges for ‘operating a vehicle while intoxicated’ and for ‘improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.’

“A police report from Oregon PD said that Anderson was pulled over for allegedly going 55 m.p.h. in a posted 40 m.p.h. Zone. The officer stated that he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed an open container of Don Julio alcohol in the car. Police also said that they could smell the odor of alcohol coming from Anderson. During a search of the vehicle, police found the firearm in a locked glove box.”
It is not exactly clear what Anderson had been doing prior to that point. However, the incident has disrupted what has been a very productive year. The boxer has had three fights this year to become one of the most active heavyweights around. Anderson’s last bout was against Andrii Rudenko, as the American secured a fifth-round-stoppage win. And provided that Anderson can overcome this obstacle, a world title shot in 2024 will be the focus.
