Nate Diaz Claims Self-Defense Following Arrest Warrant – ‘No Further Comment’

Nate Diaz has claimed self-defense in response to his arrest warrant for second-degree battery following an altercation.

Reports indicate that the New Orleans Police Department acted following a video that surfaced, showing the UFC star placing TikToker and Logan Paul look-alike Rodney Petersen in a chokehold, causing him to lose consciousness.

Diaz was attending the Misfits 6 event to show support for Chris Avila, after which the incident occurred.

Petersen received medical attention, including an alleged head injury. If Diaz is found liable for the offense, a charge of eight years in jail could be given, as well as a $2,000 fine.

Not only that, but the UFC star’s upcoming fight with Jake Paul on August 6th, 2023, could be in doubt. With that being said, Diaz is looking to prove his innocence.

“Nate’s attorney looks forward to presenting all of the facts about this incident to the District Attorney, which clearly demonstrates that a trained fighter named Rodney Petersen aggressively pursued Nate with the intention of engaging him, and once doing so, Nate acted entirely in self-defense. No further comment will be made at this time,” Zach Rosenfield (Diaz’s representative).
