Northcutt Makes ONE Debut On May 1

On Tuesday at ONE Championship’s open workout in Los Angeles, another of their high-profile signings announced their debut for the promotion.

Coming off of three wins inside the Octagon for the UFC, Northcutt signed with ONE Championship late in 2018, joining Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson as the major free agent moves made by the Asia based promotion.

Northcutt will debut at ONE’s return to Singapore on May 17th, facing kickboxer Cosmo Alexandre, at welterweight, which due to ONE’s rules on weight-cutting is 185 pounds.

This will mark Northcutt’s first fight since his July second round knockout of Zak Ottow, ending a UFC career that saw him go 6-2 in the Octagon.

Alexandre, who competed for Bellator in 2011-12, will also be making his ONE MMA debut, fighting in ONE kickboxing fights at two prior events. This will be the first time the 36-year old fights under MMA rules since September 2016.
