Penn-Guida Eyed For UFC 237

Former lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn will return to the Octagon in May, as he and fellow UFC veteran Clay Guida have joined the card for UFC 237 on May 11th.

This will be Penn’s first fight in Rio since 2000, when he became the first non-Brazilian to take gold in a jiu-jitsu world championship.

Penn is looking to stop a six fight losing streak that began in 2011, with his last win coming by way of a 21-second knockout of Matt Hughes in November 2010.

Guida on the other hand has only one loss in his last three fights, tapping to Charles Oliveira in June. Prior to the loss to Oliveira, Guida knocked out Joe Lauzon in 67 seconds and took a decision from Erik Koch.

UFC 237 is currently slated to feature Rose Namajunas vs. Jessica Andrade as the headliner at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio.
