Sturm Stops Blindert In The 3rd Round

Felix Sturm stopped Benjamin Blindert in the third round in a one-sided light heavyweight clash.

Both men were trying to work each other out in the opening round. Sturm found immediate success, landing a solid right hand. Blindert was poking out his jab, trying to use his reach advantage. Sturm dropped his man with an overhand right. Blindert beat the count, but Sturm continued to stalk his man, hitting him with more right hands.

Sturm started to walk down Blindert. The latter was doing well to stay in the fight but took too many shots. Sturm increased the tempo and landed two uppercuts to drop his man in the third. Although he beat the count, Sturm landed another right hand to drop his man. Once again, Blindert got up. But a body shot dropped him, and the referee waived off the fight. The win extended Strum’s record to 45-6-3.
