Is There A Replacement Opponent In Mind For Thomas Dulorme Vs. Jamal James?

Premier Boxing Champions is taking all necessary precautions when it comes to its return card on FOX Saturday, August 8.

Boxing Scene was the first to report that Mykal Fox will be on standby for the promotion’s main event. Already scheduled on the card, Fox was picked to lead the way. Thomas Dulorme will face Jamal James for the interim WBA Welterweight Title.

Fox (22-1) is on a three-fight win streak. After having a nineteen-fight win streak snapped at the hands of Shohjahon Ergashev to start 2019, Fox rebounded three months later by beating Fazliddin Gaibnazarov. He has since beating Euby Bernardo and John Arellano, with all three wins coming via unanimous decision. Making his debut in 2014, Fox has five wins via knockout.

As of now, Fox is scheduled to face Lucas Santamaria (10-1-1). Santamaria is 2-0-1 in his last three fights. His last fight was a split decision win against Willie Jones in October.

James and Dulorme were supposed to fight on April 11, but the bout was postponed due to the coronavirus. The 30-year-old Dulorme (25-3-1) is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Terrel Williams back in September. He is 1-1-1 in his last three fights, having drawn with Jessie Vargas for the WBC Silver Welterweight Title before the Williams bout.

James (26-1) is on a six-fight win streak dating back to 2017. After losing to Yordenis Ugas back in 2016, “Shango” has managed to win four of his last six fights inside the Minneapolis Armory. The Minneapolis native’s last bout was a unanimous decision win over Antonio DeMarco in July.

The FOX card will be taking place inside the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Proper safety protocols require multiple COVID-19 testing. Top Rank, which has produced fights from inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, has had to nix several bouts and fighters after testing positive before fight night. Jamel HerringMark John Yap, Mikkel LesPierre (his manager), and Mikaela Mayer are recent examples.

The action begins at 8 p.m. ET. After the main card, there will be fights on FS1.
