Conor McGregor has been out of UFC action since 2021, but he is still adamant that he will return in 2026.
McGregor was last seen in the octagon during his 2021 trilogy match with Dustin Poirier, in which he was defeated by TKO after suffering a broken ankle in the first round. The Irishman was then expected to make his long-awaited comeback in 2024 versus Michael Chandler after the pair coached opposite one another on The Ultimate Fighter. Unfortunately, this comeback did not come to fruition as McGregor was forced out with another injury suffered in training.
At that point many fans felt they had seen the last of McGregor in the UFC, especially given his other focuses like his restaurant and being a part owner of BKFC. But after the announcement of the White House card that is being planned for June 14th, McGregor seemed interested in another return.
In an interview outside his restaurant, The Black Forge, in Ireland, the former two-division champion revealed that he is still on track for his comeback and is currently in negotiations with the promotion. Surprisingly, he even seemed open to his return not occurring on the White House card, which has been his only focus in the fight game as of late.
“I am in negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship about the bout, either the White House or thereabouts. Sometime in the summer, McGregor will return.”
