Hall of Fame boxing promoter Frank Warren remains confident Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet this year despite ongoing negotiations over the venue.
The heavyweight rivals were initially expected to fight in London in November, but organizers now favor staging the event in the United States. Joshua’s team has pushed for Wembley Stadium, while Madison Square Garden in New York has emerged as a leading alternative.
“I genuinely think it will happen,” Warren said. “I know there’s been some issues with contracts with Matchroom and AJ; I believe they will iron all those out.”
Warren expects the fight to take place in America, although he has said Wembley would be the fight’s “natural home.”
Fury is already training in Miami ahead of a planned November return, but the Joshua fight and its location have yet to be officially confirmed.
