Charles Oliveira (37-11) is taking his pursuit of a lightweight title fight seriously, flooding the UFC 329 comment sections with calls for the promotion to book him against UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje (28-5).
Oliveira has openly campaigned for the Gaethje matchup. He submitted Gaethje at UFC 274 in May 2022, though Oliveira had already been stripped of the lightweight title after missing weight, meaning the victory did not come with the championship attached. A rematch would give both men unfinished business to settle.
Oliveira is a former undisputed UFC lightweight champion and the current BMF titleholder, having captured the belt by defeating Max Holloway at UFC 326 on March 7, 2026. He has now strengthened his case for another title opportunity with the Holloway victory and the BMF championship.
