Julianna Peña Set for Real American Freestyle Debut
Former two-time UFC women’s bantamweight champion Julianna Peña (13-6 MMA) will compete in Real American Freestyle (RAF) for the first time on November 14.
The 37-year-old has not competed since losing her UFC championship to Kayla Harrison by submission in June 2025, returning to competition against Diana Avsaragova at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi after a 17-month layoff.
Peña has served as a color commentator for RAF since the promotion’s launch. Previously, Peña famously submitted Amanda Nunes in December 2021 to capture the UFC bantamweight championship in one of the UFC’s biggest upsets.
Peña’s opponent, Avsaragova (6-2 MMA), is a former Bellator and PFL fighter with a wrestling background. Avsaragova will be making her second RAF appearance after losing by technical fall to Kennedy Blades at RAF 13 in September
Khamzat Chimaev vs. Colby Covington for the RAF crossover cruiserweight championship headlines the event. Other notable matches include Arman Tsarukyan against Neiman Gracie, Umar Nurmagomedov against Urijah Faber, and Olympic wrestling champion Jordan Burroughs against Azamat Nurykau.
