Fighter Dana White Dubbed A “Unicorn” Set To Headline DWCS

Bella Mir, the unbeaten daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, is set to headline Dana White’s Contender Series 89.

The 23-year-old prospect will face Alex Apodaca in a featured women’s bantamweight bout at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, with a UFC contract potentially on the line.

Mir (4-0) made her professional MMA debut at just 17 and has long been viewed as a major prospect. Dana White previously described her as a “unicorn” due to her background across multiple combat sports.

Although Mir has competed just once in MMA since June 2022, she has remained active through Brazilian jiu-jitsu and collegiate wrestling while continuing to develop her overall game.

She now faces Apodaca (3-1), who has gone the distance in all four of her professional fights, as Mir looks to take the next major step toward joining the UFC.
